Goodbye Green Beans!
I just took my last walk down to the garden to pick green beans this year. There is relief at the thought of closure on that situation, but also sadness, knowing that our meals will no longer consist of fresh produce from the garden. All summer long our plants supplied us with at least two meals of green beans each week (more like a meal a day during the peak season), but, alas, the frost has come and now we will have to resort to the few quarts that have been hidden away in the freezer. I am thankful for a bountiful harvest and the longevity of our green bean plants. RIP: You have done well!
